Guilloché (or guilloche) is a decorative technique in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive pattern is engraved into an underlying material, in this case metal after which the enamel was applied.
The guilloche technique by hand, was very time-consuming! It achieved and allowed great delicacy, precision, and closeness of line and was sometimes used in art deco items
